Hello there, I have been playing Run8 for 3 years now and I'm a staff member at the CMFR server. We don't have a SE region server there and there is little interest in the staff team to start one, I found this server after quite a bit of internet searching and thought I would try it out. I mostly play SW but have messed around in Waycross in singleplayer some, but I wanted to find a server. Just figured I would say hi here.

Welcome!
This server is much smaller compared to CMFR and some of the others out there. Usually it is just Dave and I with other members that pop in from time to time as they are available. The server is always online and you can log in whenever you like. I try to have weekly sessions on Thursday nights, but lately my real life has slowed us down. These are scheduled sessions and I try to make the traffic flow as it was a decade or more ago. Some creative liberties have been taken given the limitations of run8, but I tried to make it as real as I could get.
Again, welcome aboard and if you have any questions or need some help getting set up just let me know.

So I've looked around the server some more and I have a few more questions. I have a few questions about Duval, I didn't do any work there as 5ash has the yard job claimed right now on the worklist, but looked at it for a bit. I notice that there are cars inbound that are tagged as Tampa FL but that all of the cars on the outbound tracks have it's outgoing train symbol on it, I imagine when you work those you are supposed to add the outgoing symbol to the start like the others. And I notice for places like Chicago and N Bergen have two outgoing symbols, if cars come in like that for those with no Q symbol does it matter which one we choose?
And it looks to me like all of the reefers sitting in the H yard of Moncrief are supposed to go out on Duval Q trains, there was just no room for them in Duval? Also, I see that WPG is a tag, it looks like for Autos, but I don't see that one in the industry list like the others to tell me where it goes, so where do those cars go? Okay now my last question, in Rice I notice there are some cars in the Local yard like CYJ and some other assorted cars there on L3 and L4, can those cars get put on their respective outgoing trains when they can or are they sitting there for a reason?
Thanks in advance, Darth

Let me see if I can answer your questions without making it too complicated...
Duval - First of all, Duval is a mess right now because of the recent rush of inbounds and the fact that I goofed up and made a bigger mess by forcing trains in before there was room. I've been holding on to it so I can clean up my mess. Duval and I have a love/hate relationship right now. From what I understand, Duval pretty much handles block swaps and the ramp traffic. Recently (a few months ago), I began spawning in trains to show this, but did not add the outbound symbol as they arrive. I have been updating the symbol as they arrive to Duval, but I think we can bring those in with the new symbol. Cars bound for the ramp unload and need to be retagged manually. When the server first started up I had this automated, but it caused more problems than it was worth. By manually updating the tags it helps keep the traffic moving out of Duval. I usually look at the upcoming departures and tag the empty wells to that upcoming symbol. If there are multiple outbound for the same destination I tried to set them up by TOFC and wells based on my internet searches. I have on occasion changed blurred those lines just to get some cars out of Duval. All in all, Duval is a fun place to work, but man does it create some bottlenecks from time to time.
Reefers in Moncrief - The way things are set up right now is... empty juice cars arrive on intermodal trains and a transfer job shuttles them between Duval and Moncrief (via the JSW connection). All empties are then sent to FGE for inspection and are retagged for either Tampa (Bradenton, FL) or FEC transfer. Tampa tags are sent out on Q741 just before midnight. Q740 brings loaded juice cars back to Tampa and the loads are once again shuttled via JSW to Duval. As needed I've had the outbound crew take their own loaded juice cars to Duval to save time and man power, but I try to run that job manually since we can pretty easily.
WPG - That represents West Point, GA. Those cars collect at Moncrief and run out Q220. This train terminates at Montgomery, AL so you will see WPG and MTG empty autoracks.
Rice cars in local yard - Those are hold overs from the old hump config and can be sent back over the hump. It has been a while since I've looked in the local yard so I didn't realize those were still there. I was holding off to make sure we had everything, but that was weeks ago. New worklist item coming! In the past few weeks the way autoracks are being handle in Rice has seen a small tweak so some of that may be hold over from the recent change.
Hope this cleared some things up! As I told you before, I had to take some liberties with traffic flow based on what I could find and what we have in the sim. I'm constantly making tweaks and adjustments behind the scenes and I don't always remember to make forum posts about the changes.

Thanks that does help out a lot. So from looking at Duval now and reading what you say, the cars that come in are tagged JDR, get spotted on one of the ramps, and looking at the industry config it looks like they cycle to reloading. I see how the system works where all the different JDR# tags are to load it for a specific outgoing train, so what you are saying is when they cycle to reloading you go tag them JDR10 or another number to correspond to upcoming departing trains?
